RES | Sept 23rd

So I spent my weekend @ merre's res and it was an amazing 3 days I must say. Lots of chatting, partying, cooking, etc etc. The first day we had lunch together with E.Mei and K.Luk at the market place, lots of wondering around, checking here and there. For dinner, merre and I cooked noodles together with sausages, shrimps, and eggs; that was delicious. Later on the in evening, we joined A.Man, E.Mei, K.Luk and some others to a party at one of the south residence. They definitely didn't prepare enough drinks... although there was whiskey, goose, ice berg, bacardi, and all that. I guess it's somewhat interesting looking at these girls getting drunk after their first shot doing retarded things all over the place? Smoking sessions literally everyone 5 minutes.

Preparing omelettes yeeaaa that's right!
South rez party
Amazing instant noodles we made!

The next morning we made kraft dinner and omelettes for breakfast. Later on in the day we met up with S.Truong, T.Truong, and A.Sin at H.Chen's place. Prior to that we also went for some grocery shopping at Loblaws. I also received an unexpected phone call during that night... totally gave me an heart attack. As for dinner, we headed over to Pho88 and had our big meal there followed by a bubble tea session at Teashop168. It was quite pissing there as they didn't allow us to play cards there... like how annoying is that!

Pho session yet we had rice..
BBT session @ teashop168

The res party that was meant for D.Cook's birthday bash began at 11pm sharp. But by the time merre and I arrive, most of the drinks were already done, which was quite disappointing for a party that just started. M.Chen ended up taking out another bottle of vodka for us, the Asians... although I've been saying that I "quit" vodka already... I still ended up taking quite a few shots along with a bit of whiskey and some beer. The night got better and better as we started meeting more and more people. What's ironic was most of those we met, weren't even from merre's uni! Highlights of the night: going out for late walks, making loud noises outside, exchanging numbers, remembering all the names, and more. Overall it turned out to be one of the more interesting parties that we haven't experienced in a long while...

Still so sober, I swear!
Cans instead of bottles... lots of them!
At an unfamiliar place...

An amazing breakfast/lunch that we prepared the next morning:

That was so yummmy!

Events | Sept 20th

So much going on these days after University has begun... I'm still slowly trying to adapt to the new change and environment. Yesterday was a pretty interesting day... I only had one lecture in the evening where I sat with A.Man, not much to say about that; it was quite boring. After class I met up with J.Sham where her friend drove us to her place...We then went for dinner at Asian Legend with her house mates. I'd say, we ordered way too much food; a soup, 2 cold dishes, 4 main dishes, and rice... just too much for a dinner for 5. The bill turned out to be ~$100... After dinner, J.Sham and I went to visit F.Chau & K.Cheung at their new place. Oh my lord, their new place was just pretty darn big in my opinion... with a huge balcony! Should totally have a BBQ at their place someday man! I ended up getting home around 12 in the morning... pretty late for someone who has an 8:30am lecture the next morning... in which I am sitting in right now.

Happy 18 my dear!
chocomerre after a big meal : )

Last Friday was miss J.Sun's be-lated birthday gathering which took place @ Ten23. Prior to the event, merre and I headed to have lunch together at Matsu for the second time. What's different this time, is that my daddy joined it; it was pretty jokes. As for the singk part... it felt more like an NTCI gathering to be honest... since more than half the people were from NT. An usual singk session followed by dinner at Congee Queen as always.

Bottles Bottles Phones

The next day which was meant for a day to study and catch up on readings turned out quite different than expected. There was a drinking session which took place at A.Man's place where S.Truong and I attended. The interesting part was when we headed to LCBO to get drinks.. where we bumped into some dmci schoolmates; J, Z, and some others. We ended up carrying a conversation with each other all the way from North York to Yonge&Finch... pretty impressive. It was a long night.. unfortunately S.Truong couldn't keep up through all the events that happened with me, but i'm sure next time she will for sure! So H.Chen came over to drive her home at around 1am... and afterwards the rest of us went for Karaoke at a place nearby. We then went for dinner at a Korean restaurant next door at around 4AM where we bumped into HJ and a few of his friends. Soon K.Luk came over to join us as well! After our midnight dinner, we headed back to the house and continued drinking...; man it was such a busy night.

Cruise | Sept 9th

A nice view from the boat cruise of Toronto

So here we are, at the beginning of a new school year... what's different now is that it's the University stage instead of HS. Frosh week was truly long compared to all the others at my Uni... what's dumb is I paid a good $100 for the 10 days event... and I only attended to 2 of them. Let's just say I was busy with work and lazy to travel due to the long distance. Frosh was meant to be the time to meet new friends and just gather and chill, so of course, I did get to meet some few new faces here & there although my late attendance did make it quite difficult for me to mix and mingle into the group.

New faces, new start, new life

The one and only event that interested me on the list was the Boat Cruise which took place @ Harbourfront. It was meant to be semi formal so the guys got to suit it up and girls got to put on their dresses & heels. Once again, I arrived late hence I didn't have time to dress up before hand... I ended up changing on the bus where everyone called me brave in the end due to my ridiculous behaviour...

Out from one, on the another
It took me a long time to remember her name; Steph!
Those that complaint that I was too quite

Anyways, the cruise was really pretty and I truly enjoyed standing on the top floor and just enjoying the wind blown onto my face, although I did get sick the next day. On top of that, there was a dance that took place on the boat; it was quite painful to dance in heels I must say. What was unexpected was that there was also a major drama session... in which I was somewhat "involved" in, I won't go into details about that though since I guess it did get solved in the end. At last, I would like to say that i'm really missing those days where there was no need in finding room to "fit in" since that is just not something that I like doing, it's just not me.

Last group pic before the night ended; big smiles : )
A last glance @ the cruise

Last | Sept 2nd

Before summer officially ended we had our last gathering which took place @ A.Man's place. There were a lot more people that attended compared to what I had expected, which was cool I guess. Merre and I were pretty darn excited to see J.Shew since the last time we chilled was like more than a year ago! Long story short, it was another drinking session as always... Hopefully the video + pictures will show how much fun it was; miss you guys! <3

PS- excuse my language in the vid.; merre made me mad!

Round2 | Sept 1st

This is always how we look like

Holy shit can't believe it's already September! University's beginning in less than a week and everything just seems so unreal... new faces, new environment, and new profs. Can't exactly take in the fact that this is actually happening...

Anyways, to end off the summer nicely, merre and I went to CNE for a second round for some real shopping and more food & gambling. Our plan was to arrive exactly at 5pm but we ended up being laid back and arrived a bit later as usual. We began our journey touring around the food building finding foods that we'll eat later on in the evening... From there, we spotting a mini don mills gang around the corner eating hot dogs & manchuwok; we stopped and chatting for a little. I also noticed merre's Bruce friend, H.Lee working at Pho88; that was quite interesting.

The crowd
Free Sprite every time; bowl

We then stopped by for a round of Bingo, it's one of the places we visit every hour cause the game is free. Unfortunately we only played one game today due to our busy schedule. We then bought an Iced Mocha from the coffee house and it tasted so damn good! After that, we figured it's about time to start some real shopping. We spent a good 2 hours searching for jeans that fitted us, clothes for the new year, and nail polish for the nails. In the end, we walked out with a heavy ass shopping bag that we had to carry for the rest of the night.

Old coffee shop
Not that short?
Short too!

Because our legs/foot were extremely tired after all the walking we decided it was about time for dinner. We got our poutine, but from a different place this time (once again, it tasted like heaven!), spaghetti, pogos, & ice cap. I really wanted some other foods but there was just no more room in the stomach... -.-

Corn Dogs
$0.99 noodles
Traditional Ivy Poutine

Good old timmies

As usual, we had our gambling session after playing over&under and the colour wheel. Horrible luck right at the beginning constantly losing money within the first 10mins... towards the middle it got a bit better for me.. and in the end... I left with an empty wallet once again. I tried getting money from an ATM machine and it nearly ate my money away... Overall I'd say it's still quite worth it since I had loads of fun. To end off the amazing night, we got on an express bus and made our way home with funny question sessions on the subway/ttc.

Matsu | Aug 29th

Such a satisfied lunch it was on a nice Monday. I had a job interview in the morning at BBM, a.k.a. choco's work place. I arrived rather early and so I waited outside at the bus shelter for awhile and then went in. It was rather different because it was a group interview and took longer than I had expected. After it was completed, I finally met up with choco and decided on going to Matsu, a japanese and thai restaurant over Wonderpho, and thank god too, because the meal was so satisfying.

chocomerre out together for a big meal

It was a lunch all-you-eat. We ordered so much food exactly 3 times. The waiter guy was really funny actually. We got so confused with the menu that we made him rip out a few pages from his little order book so we could write what we wanted ourselves. When we gave him the sheets, he went like, "Oh, very nice writing." Too jokes.

Some of our first round of orders...

We ordered so much food, yet we finished it all. That's how fat we are.

Rainbow Roll; ate everything except the top

The thing about Japanese food is the sashimi, as most people would say. However, we're different from the rest and we actually hate that part. It tastes like fat apparently.

Cute little squids!

Choco couldn't get enough of the scallops and ordered them twice. See the cute little heart stuff?

Because we were craving corn...!
Amazing tasting scallops!

After the satisfied meal, choco was supposed to be at work, but because she was having so much fun with me, she called in "sick". We went to Fairview direction and had the most difficult time thinking about what to do. We did bump into TP and JS on the way up. We talked to JS for like 20 min at the ticket booth area about the summer, job interviews, new friends, relationship, usual girl gossip.

Randomly saw miss JS

Finally arrived at Fairview and shopped for like 5 min at Forever21. Then went to the food court to play some Monopoly Deal and eat some chicken wings. I was quick pro and won choco every time until she learned to strategy to copy EXACTLY what I did and won the last 2 times.. -.-"

Choco's strategy to win!

Nice day.

Della | Aug 27th

These posts will be a bit out of order, but that's ok. So this day started out quite differently for choco and I. She had work and got a ride to Fairview by JL, which I'm sure was rather exciting and made her day. That would just never happen my ass. On my side, I had a little family picnic in a park that was apparently a golf course. Nevertheless, the food filled me up. I laughed at the chicken hearts however.

After meeting choco at Don Mills station, we were shortly joined by F. Chau, our concert buddy for the night. We headed down to Harbourfront right away and we were actually quite overwhelmed by all that was going on. There seemed to be long line ups everywhere. We started at one line until choco saw some PUYO-ers. We chatted for a bit about the randomest things, university, drinking, etc. We finally gave up on the original lineup for oyster omelets and went for a line for boxed bentos. It was upsetting that the beef noodles were all sold out. They really have to be more prepared next year!

During the lineup, F. Chau talked to us about random things as well. Discussions that came up involved necklace, drinking parties, sleeping, afterprom more and more. And then all of a sudden, we were spotted by IC with her friend MY. We had our awkward greeting a few times actually. Then again when we left from the concert. The lineup for food took forever that choco and I had to leave to get seats for the concert. During the wait, we did meet JK and his friend A.

The main purpose of going to the Taiwan Fest was actually to go to to Della, a.k.a. 丁噹! It's so unbelievable that someone cool from Asia actually came to Canada and that the concert was absolutely free. We saw choco's wretch friend, MT, KT and more PUYO-ers SL. Our seats were not bad, but could be better. If it wasn't for the food that took so long, maybe it would've been more centre.

Taiwanese food

The night started with Champion, then Magic Power, Della and lastly, Della and MP. They sang so many more songs than we had expected; it was great! We did our videos and photos and even made an Ipad sign. But it was kind of a fail for many reasons and she barely looked at us, but that's ok!

Waiting for Champion, Magic Power & Della!

BBM | Aug 28th

BBM Canada

It's been quite a long time since I've gotten an actual "job"... Recently I got hired @ BBM Canada, a marketing research company in which V.Szeto referred me to; I actually didn't even really know him... we went to the same school and that's about it. I finally got to meet him on the second week of work and we went out for lunch together, he's pretty funny I guess.

My little work space : )
Typical call center environment

I'd say this job is quite relaxing and interesting, I work at the call center and my daily task is to call households to conduct market research studies. Apart from having to meet the daily quota which stresses me out a BIT, everyone is really nice and it's a great working environment! I met one of the co-workers during one of my shifts, JL. Time passes by much faster with him around, and I recently discovered that he has an identical twin; which really surprised me... He also drove me to Fairview yesterday after work, too nice.

A birthday wish from my company!

A typical day of work on a Saturday would look like this:

  1. Buying a breakfast sandwich Starbucks
  2. Going to Metro to get sushi to eat for lunch
  3. Attend work at make my calls
  4. Lunch & walk to Starbucks to get a latte
  5. Work and make more calls
  6. Go to the kitchen to chill during my break
  7. Work and make even more calls
  8. Home time!

Kitchen area for employees to rest
    Coffee provided for us!

I recently also referred merre to the job and her interview is taking place tomorrow! Good luck!

    After work looking tired
