Woodbine | Aug 7th

First beach gathering of the summer, also a little NIU! celebration party organized by the VRT team. Before we talk about the day, maybe this video will be a better representation of what went on that day. To be honest, the overall day was quite disappointing because the beach really wasn't our thing. But nevertheless, maybe this video will better explain what our day was like. 

The weather that day was just absolutely terrible. It rained in the morning and was going to rain for the rest of the day. This was the reason why the event got cancelled at first, yet at last minute, it was back on again. Quite annoying, because we were ready to NOT go already. However, we couldn't ignore the opportunity either because we had our beachwear all prepared. Before getting there, merre went to Taste of Danforth once again and tried some more food.

Fries & Ribs

After meeting choco at Donlands, we headed off to woodbine beach. Just our luck, it began to rain like crazy again, we had a hard time walking in the rain and trying to locate the rest of the PU-ers. We surprisingly met up with D. Ngai out of everyone and finally found the group. This year, we had no tent, no towels and the worse location ever--right beside the water. As well, there was no food whatsoever, just a cans of Arizona and brisk. And a favourite activity according to these people, was to throw each other into the water. Chocomerre had to do some awkward standing cause we were NOT going to get into the water, period. Like literally, period.

Getting dunked? Never.

Even though they attempted to dunk merre, she kicked everyone around her. Sorry, but don't mess with her, unless you want your balls being kicked. Some team work happened where A. Mo got dunked. S. Liu got dunked, etc. All we could do was distance away with S. Luong and thankfully, that worked. Once it got too annoying/bored/stupid/lame, the VRT crew excluding M. Ha and S.Liu went to his car and we played some big2 and poker. Real poker, that is. And gambling with quarters, dollars and soon, bills. Quite an intense game.

When it was time to leave, we, the mature people bused home, while the other peeps went to Congee for dinner. Choco had to then buy french fries for her daddy once she got home? Yum.
